Dr. Halpern has extensive experience working with technology and supply vendors through his involvement in ICU design and his chairmanships of hospital-wide Clinical Device, Equipment, Commodity and Product committees, both at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York and the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Bronx, New York. He has collaborated with informatics and point of care testing companies, including Cardiopulmonary Corp., Milford, CT, CliniComp International, Inc., San Diego, CA, Instrumentation Laboratory, Bedford, MA, Medical Automation Systems, Charlottesville, VA, Global Care Quest, Aliso Viejo, CA, AirStrip Technologies, San Antonio, TX, and Pronia Medical Systems, Louisville, KY. He is also a member of the Healthcare Business and Intelligent Hospital Advisory Boards of the RFID in Healthcare Consortium. Dr. Halpern was the Chair of the ICU Room of the Intelligent Hospital Pavilion at HIMSS 2014, Orlando, FL. He continues to work with multiple vendors, including manufacturers of ICU beds, infusion pumps, head boards and mobile articulating arms, flooring, connectivity, imaging, E-medical record and point of care testing, and all types of disposable ICU supplies. He is also Section Head of the Ethics & Organization in Critical Care & Emergency Medicine Faculty of F1000Prime.
